Eldercare Workforce Development-Rural & Tribal Communities

Goal of the Overall VISTA Project: The Eldercare Workforce Development in Rural and Tribal Communities Initiative (EWDRTC) addresses 2 critical needs: eldercare employment opportunities & adequate/appropriate services for older adults in rural/tribal communities. This will be an anti-poverty initiative for residents in Harding & Union Counties, equipping the underserved with essential job skills, education, & fundamental training to enter and advance in the eldercare workforce, and empowering older adults to remain living independently. The VISTA member will use gained knowledge to raise awareness and develop the infrastructure needed to launch comprehensive eldercare workforce training/development opportunities to benefit the rising aging populations in rural counties.

Objective of the Assignment

The Eldercare Workforce Development in Rural and Tribal Communities Initiative is passionate about cultivating an eldercare workforce. Achievable through identifying present and vital job skills training, educational offerings to enhance technical skills, and generating employment pathways for aging services.
