Farm to Senior Center

New Mexico Grown

The purpose of the New Mexico Grown Program is to encourage senior centers across New Mexico to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables that are grown in the state for the senior meal program. The Aging & Long-Term Services Department has worked to foster links between senior centers and local farms, farm organizations and ranchers so that freshly harvested local food items become a staple in the diets of New Mexico older adults. The funding for New Mexico Grown Program is made available through fiscal year 2024 state appropriation. All New Mexico Senior Center providers may submit an application, even if they have never done so before.
