Santa Fe, NM, July 10, 2024 — Did you know that falling is NOT a normal part of aging?
On September 25, from 9 am to 2 pm, Villages of Santa Fe and CHRISTUS St. Vincent are offering a Falls FREE Check Up, with presentations by experts on preventing falls and exercise demonstrations to encourage everyone to 'move it.'
More than one out of three New Mexicans age 65+ fall every year. Falls are the leading cause of fatal and nonfatal injuries among older adults. Exercise is the only proven way to prevent falls.
Join us for FREE risk assessments and learn short, fun exercises that help you just 'move it.' Professionals from the CHRISTUS St. Vincent team and Villages' instructors are leading the charge to 'turn the curve' in preventing falls in our older population in Northern New Mexico.
Join professionals from CHRISTUS St. Vincent and Villages:
- Get a FREE falls risk assessments,
- Learn the causes of falls and how to avoid them,
- Talk with professionals about how vision, hearing, and balance affect falls,
- Develop your plan for healthy aging,
- Explore exercises that improve balance and flexibility.
